It’s been six weeks since I wrote my last post, “I’ll be at IJET-26 – will you?” and, remarkably, IJET-26 has sold out already!
When the organising committee booked a 140-person capacity lecture hall at York St John University for the event, our main worry was whether we would be able to get the minimum number we set as our target. IJETs outside Japan tend to be a small-scale affair, and especially with the weak yen making travel to the UK so expensive, filling the hall seemed too ambitious even to contemplate.
But the response we received took us all by surprise, and by the end of April it became apparent that we had to make sure we didn’t end up exceeding the capacity of our venues. After we put the word out about almost reaching capacity, the last few remaining tickets got snapped up five weeks ahead of the deadline for registration. We have been told that this is the first IJET outside Japan to sell out.
So if you have registered to attend, congratulations and thank you very much for your support! We will spend the next six weeks making sure everything will be in place for a fully-packed weekend of learning and networking – for details, please see the programme on our website. Please also check our Facebook page and Twitter for updates, and feel free to post any questions on the participants’ mailing list.
If you were considering coming to the conference but have missed the boat, you can put your name on the waiting list by contacting our registrar via theIJET-26 website.
See you in York!
